Undergraduate students and post-baccalaureate diploma students from any Atlantic Canadian post-secondary institution can apply. Impact X is not open to graduate- level students.

All participants must be full or part-time undergraduate or post-baccalaurate students during the event. Limited participation may be extended to select secondary school students by invitation.

No, there is no cost to apply or participate.

Through generous sponsorship, we are able to  provide travel stipends of $300 to participants who are accepted to participate and who need to travel to attend. Travel stipends will be provided in-person at the Summit. StFX students are not eligible for a travel stipend.

No, Impact X is for all students on their entrepreneurial journey. The Summit will welcome students from a range of backgrounds, including students with established ventures to those with early-stage ideas and even those who are simply curious about entrepreneurship.

You are welcome to come up with an social venture idea before the application deadline. You can participate in the Early-Seed Stream workshops and consider doing a 1-min pitch for awards! Mentors will be on-site to support you!

• Anyone who is interested in attending Impact X needs to apply. There is no cost! Travel stipends will be available.
• You will need a google account to fill out your application.
• If you decide to participate in the Pitch Competition, you will need to submit a draft pitch deck with your application.
• You can apply as a team – all applicants must apply individually, but only one team member needs to submit a pitch deck.

Impact X will be offering over $10,000 in prizes. Prizes will be awarded in both the early-seed and late-seed streams for those who sign up for either the 1 min pitch OR the 7-min pitch.  Prizes will be distributed based on judges’ scoring and feedback. Impact X is primarily for undergraduate and post-baccalaureate diploma students. We have a small number of spots available for high school students, which will be by invitation only. We appreciate the keen interest of high school students to participate, so if you are a teacher or a student who is interested, we kindly ask you to send us an email at impactx@stfx.ca to express your interest and we will follow up if any additional spots open up.

In your application,  you will need to submit a DRAFT pitch deck if you are participating in the pitch competition. Your application will be assessed based on this draft and we  expect your pitch to be based on this social venture.

However, you are able to make tweaks and revisions to your pitch deck between the date of submission and the pitch. Once you are selected to attend, you will be asked to submit your FINAL pitch deck a few days before the Summit.
