Undergraduate students and post-baccalaureate diploma students from any Atlantic Canadian post-secondary institution can apply. Impact X is not open to graduate-level students.

All participants must be full or part-time undergraduate or post-baccalaurate students during the event. Limited spots are available for high school students.

No, there is no cost to apply.  However, if you are accepted to attend, there is a $25 confirmation fee (per person) to reserve your spot. Meals are provided over the two days.

Through one of our partnerships,  we are able to provide a modest travel stipend (max $300) to participants who travel to attend. Participants will indicate in their application whether they want to apply for  support.  Travel stipends will be provided in-person at the Summit. StFX students are not eligible for a travel stipend.

No, Impact X is for all students on their entrepreneurial journey. The Summit will welcome students from a range of backgrounds, including students with established ventures to those with early-stage ideas and even those who are simply curious about entrepreneurship.

You are welcome to come up with an social venture idea before the application deadline. You can participate in the Early-Seed Stream workshops and consider doing a 1-min pitch for awards! Mentors and workshops will be on-site to support you!

Impact X will be offering $12,000 in prizes. Prizes will be awarded in the three streams: High School (1 min); Early-seed (1-min) and Late-Seed (5-min) streams.  The top 3-pitches in the three streams will compete in a public finale at the end of day on Saturday, Nov 22nd. Prizes will be announced at the Awards Banquest that evening.

Yes, you are very welcome to apply to attend Impact X again – we would love to have some Impact X alumni return! No previous 1st place winner can compete in the pitch competition again with the same business idea – you can apply with a new social venture initiative though. If you didn’t win 1st place previously at Impact X, you are welcome to apply with the same initiative, taking into account your new learnings!

Impact X 2025 will build on the success of its inaugural year. Last year, participants rated their overall experience a 4.7 out of 5 stars! This year, the Summit will be two full days, starting with registration at 9 am on Friday morning, November 21. We will have the pitching workshop on Friday to allow participants time to make slight adjustments to their pitch decks.

We have also built into the schedule more networking time and hands-on opportunities to learn from a local social impact partner. Also, the Saturday afternoon’s public finale will also include top 3 pitches from the three streams. Impact X 2025 will be as amazing as last year!

In your application,  you will need to submit a DRAFT pitch deck if you are participating in the pitch competition.

Your application will be assessed based on this draft and we  expect your pitch to be based on this social venture.

Once you are selected to attend, you will be able to make final tweaks and revisions to your pitch deck between the date of submission and the pitch.

We will have a Virtual Summit Orientation on November 6, 2025 to help you answer any outstanding questions.

You will be asked to submit your FINAL pitch deck before the pitch competition on Saturday, November 22nd.

Yes! Last year we reserved spots at Impact X for teachers and faculty members to attend alongside accepted students from their school or university.

Those who participated found it valuable both to support their students and to connect with other entrepreneurship educators and leaders.
