Countdown to Impact X 2025!

Pitch Competition

St. Francis Xavier University is hosting the second-ever Impact X Pitch Competition for students channeling their entrepreneurship mindset and skills for social change. Students will have the opportunity to pitch their social change venture ideas and compete for $12,000 in prize money!

Participants pick their stream – high school stream (1 min pitch), early-seed stream (1 min pitch for university students) or late-seed stream (5 min pitch, open to high school and university students).

Fear not – if you aren’t ready to pitch an idea, you can still apply to attend Impact X.

Three Streams

Impact X participants need to identify in their applications which stream they would like to pitch in:

High-School Stream

This stream is for High School students or teams with entrepreneurial ideas that are still in the very early stages of development. These ideas are typically conceptual, with minimal or no formal structure around the business plan, prototype, or market research. Participants in this division are at the stage of exploring their idea’s feasibility, identifying target markets, and beginning the early work of shaping their concept into a viable business. This stream will give you the option to participate in the 1-min Pitch Competition against other high schools students.

Early-Seed Stream

The Early-Seed stream is for University students or teams with entrepreneurial ideas that are still in the very early stages of development. These ideas are typically conceptual, with minimal or no formal structure around the business plan, prototype, or market research. Participants in this division are at the stage of exploring their idea’s feasibility, identifying target markets, and beginning the early work of shaping their concept into a viable business. This stream will give you the option to participate in the 1-min Pitch Competition against other university students.

Late-Seed Stream

The Late Seed stream is for students or teams whose entrepreneurial ideas have moved beyond the initial concept stage and have started to take shape. While the venture has not yet been launched or received much funding, participants have made significant progress in areas such as market validation, prototype development, and refining their business model. This stream is for those who are closer to turning their idea into a market-ready venture. This stream will give you the option to participate in the 5-min Pitch Competition.
This is open to both University and High School students.

Public Finale

The top three pitches from each stream will present again during the public finale on Saturday afternoon, where a new panel of judges will determine the final rankings -1st, 2nd, and 3rd place within each stream.  Winners will be revealed and prizes awarded at the Final Banquet on Saturday evening.
